A spring brick pointed at several angles for starters. With up and down variants, 2x2 and 4x4.

Auto rail would work somewhat like this; you place the rail and it detects and places the correct rail for you. So you can easily make the turns. Would make the entire thing a lot easier for newcomers to use.

The auto-rail idea would be nice, and it'd solve the problem of awkward use, but I feel like it may be difficult to get it properly guessing what's trying to be built. Maybe not, though.

Yeah, that's what I meant for the springs.

The auto rail is probably not going to happen. I'd imagine that detection of each part to make the whole thing work would be hell. Basically all i'm saying is it'd help with corners a tonnn as well as doing things such as diagonals. Up/down might not be needed quite as much.

i think that's what you mean. the build is really messy though. it was mostly for testing.
