Author Topic: Shader's won't work past the lowest setting  (Read 531 times)

Ok, so I have a problem.  When I try to put shaders past the lowest setting, it's as if it were off.  I am running on an Alienware M17X R4, so I don't see how this can be a problem with RAM or memory.  Is there some way to fix this?

His version comes with Nvidia GeForce GTX 680M GPU but I don't know whether it is good or not.

I did some research.
In March NVIDIA introduced the GeForce GTX 680, the most advanced and efficient graphics card ever made. With peerless performance and an innovative feature set, the GTX 680 won countless awards from the independent press and allowed gamers to enjoy the latest and most demanding titles with every single setting set to maximum.
I'd say it's pretty good.

Your laptop is using the integrated graphics in order to save power. I'm not sure where to disable this, try the NVIDIA Control Panel?

GTX 680 =/= GTX 680M

Its basically a low clocked 670 desktop GPU which is pretty amazing considering that older GPU's (see 480m) were similar to their low to mid range desktop counterparts [6990 was = to a 6870]
nVidia low-clocked the GPU so that it won't overheat your laptop and drain your battery.

Probably via the nVidia control panel.
