Author Topic: lovey Water  (Read 3248 times)

I was bored so I messed with some settings and got some semi-realistic looking water. Best I've seen in torque. The waves and direction of the 2 textures is really cool to watch, but I have yet to find out how to make a shoreline that is visible. :cookieMonster:

That's some really goddamn clean ocean.

Think of it as Florida or a coral reef :cookieMonster:

Make it a trifle darker, and add sand textures to the bottom and it will be good.

Not my map, just my water, and I'm already working on shore and more(or less, that always confuses me) opacity.

i live in florida..... its not that clean :p

Ocean water is never really that opaque.

You could probably get away with water that clear if you had a fog layer underneath it.  Torque supports it but I've never done it in Blockland so it could very well be broken.

i live in florida.....your travel agent exagerate on how clear the ocean is over here, especialy during Red Tides...(Its not blood idiots)... :p

Tell how you set it up, that looks good for torque.

It looks pretty good. There should be an option to use the sky environment map, if it has one, try turning it on. You might have to make your own texture for it, but it is really worth it. Then again, you could be using it and I can't notice it because of how clear the water is.

North Carolina beach water is really cloudy and a green/blueish color, it's almost impossible to see through.

I demand you release how you did this NAO

I can do that too... I think :/
