r/Atheism is a subreddit for angsty teenagers who oppose Christianity simply because it's the religion that their parents follow. Because most Redditors love trying to stick it to the man, a lot of them tend to use Atheism as an excuse for launching angry tirades against their Christian friends on Facebook. After making needlessly confrontational remarks about religion, a Redditor will screencap the resulting Facebook conversation and post it to Reddit so that other socially inept handicaps can circlejerk over how great it is to display a complete lack of social tact. These are the same guys who wonder why nobody actually likes them in real life. It should be noted that accusing others of having a superiority complex is a common defensive tactic on r/Atheism, and is not unlike being accused of having vision problems by Stevie Wonder. The irony of this, like many things, are lost on reddit users. r/Atheism is easily the biggest section of cum swapping and circlejerking on the internet. stuffty pun continuation threads and Richard Dawkins procrastination hour is the norm.

People who don't reddit always seem to look at it wrong. While the entire site is one community, it isn't comparable to a forum. The forums would be the subbreddits. Judging a massive site like that is like judging all forums based on the actions of one. Besides, there a lot of high quality and laid back subreddits that are probably a lot nicer than this forum. It's all about looking past the bluustuff which is something people should be used to here.
