Author Topic: would you eat synthetic meats  (Read 4334 times)

exactly a week ago, on august 5th, the world's first lab-grown burger was eaten at a news conference in london
this marks the start of a new age of meat production
what is your opinion on this matter

if you have no idea what im talking about, synthetically-grown meat is just muscle and fat meat cells grown in a lab, instead of in an animal

if it tastes good I guess so

i came in here thinking about this relating to McDonalds

If it tastes good I don't see what the problem is. It's not like they would deliberately make the synthetic meat harmful or taste bad. They're trying to sell the stuff.

vegans and stuff would be able to eat it too, right? because it didn't require the death of an animal?

yeah, thats what i was thinking
for some reason my grandparents keep blabbering on about genetic and mutations or something, like we eat the meats and our children have 2 heads, 3 arms and 5 legs
idk whats up with them lol

It doesn't actually really bother me :/
I still kinda like real and pure meat.

I'm 100% sure that any genetic mutations in a cow will not affect your genes unless you're a bacteria absorbing the meat's genetic material through horizontal gene transfer, or if the meat is really made out of retroviruses and is being injected into you intravenously.

i would eat it. its gotta be better then the chemical and hormone fed meat we have now.

there's literally no reason not to other than being dumb, so yeah, of course

I guess so

Pack the meat full of vitamins and nutrients, healthy burger

"naturally-grown meats"

wut.

Probably not, I prefer to go natural and organic, you know, like how nature always finds a way to beat up scientists that do super unnatural stuffs.
Though I wouldn't mind it taking off as an everyday thing for everybody else, less animals being hormoned and raped for their delicious meats.
