Also, life in prison? Maybe a possibility for the extreme crimes aka mega kill sprees, which means you either rot in jail forever OR you reset?
This isn't possible as it is possible to escape/be broken out of jail

This isn't possible as it is possible to escape/be broken out of jail
It's possible to be broken out, just as it's possible to remain locked up forever, so it goes back to the question of is that a legitimate punishment you can receive as oppose to 1 hour in prison per person killed. If I kill 50 people, can I receive the punishment "life in prison with no chance of bail."
Hypothetically someone could break me out, or if I'm an starfish with no friends I will forever rot in prison

Also possibly worth noting:
People go to jail for stuff like robbing a store, assault, public intoxication, aka misdemeanors
People go to prison for grand theft auto, murder, faking currency, aka felony charges

Jail is where guys could actually leave their cells to go work out, play cards, watch football, etc
Prison is basically Alcatraz compared to that.

Not sure if that's really worth bringing up but I toured a jail recently and this was explained to my law and justice honors class, so I figured why not bring it up here

Edit:
I read the OP and it states you could get life in prison, and are better off just resetting your account

Are car bombs implemented?

Are car bombs implemented?
What kind of response are you expecting to get from this? I honestly want to know.

Are car bombs implemented?
of course what kind of city doesnt have this?

In other news, we have officially 9,068 lines of code. We haven't even begun too ;).
RTB has roughly 25,814 (mines a bit modified so it might increase/decrease)
The most downloaded mod this week System_ItemStorage has 5,722 lines of code.
That is all for now.

In response to Adin's questions,

Yes, there will be a witness system.  How it's currently operational is, upon committing a crime one of three outcomes may occur.

A) Someone is in range of your crime and has you in their FOV.
That person witnessed you committing your crime, and he/she can then go report it to the police station.  That is, if you don't kill them first :).

B) A Police Officer or atleast a third of the server witnesses your crime.
You instantly are found guilty of your crime, and an APB is sent out for your arrest.

C) Nobody witnesses your crime and you get off scot-free.
The body can still be found though for players to find and report.

As for the Prison/Jail separation concept, I think this is a great idea and we'll have to give it a try, test it, and see how it goes!
Concerning how Jail currently works though, killing people and committing high-level crimes is very punishable and not nerfed in any way.  IE: For one murder you can serve up to 10 minutes in Jail.  (With your idea of Prison/Jail separation, said murderer would rot in Prison instead of Jail.  Prison would be harder to break out of [?])

That would be interesting, needless to say. ;)

No.

Only counting the lines of code we wrote, the total amount becomes 7,496.
In that total i'm not counting in the clutter of Khain's weapon datablocks, or the support scripts such as Spacecasts or Daycycles.  I'm also grouping Client_CityMod's lines of code into the amount.

Either way, I still don't consider an Add-On that has lots of lines of code to be superior to one that has less.

Vaux just has no love for code </3. I work woth the devil.

If you're serious about the seperation of jail and prison, I would like to suggest something, and I think you'll like it:
BAIL BONDSMEN - Jail sucks. But if you got money, you can buy your way out. How? A bail bondsmen. As a jail-bird, you cannot make transactions yourself, so you have to sign a waver that basically says "I'll pay you $$$, and you pay $ to get me out of prison AKA my bail." It's expensive, but it could be less expensive than spending 4 hours in jail printing license plates.

Can be implemented. I've been to my local state jail (it was a school field trip for our law and justice honors class), it's brand new. If you ever played on the Brighter Dark's Jail escape, it's basically that.

Differences between jail and prison:
JAIL - within urban area, light security, no sniper towers, no tanks, no dogs, prisoners are ALLOWED to leave their cell for certain amounts of time (for our purposes, they can leave their cell indefinitely, unless a guard forces them back in to subdue a riot?), prisoners can engage in programs (music clubs, physical training, religious groups, etc), they can have basic possessions (books, magazines, pictures, etc), sometimes guards will give them distractions to prevent riots/mischief (let the prisoners play Xbox, I am completely serious.)

PRISON - forget life, you are going to die in here. Don't drop the soap? Prison. This is where the big bad wolf would go, if he were a heroin-dealing-child-molesting-quadruple-murder-sociopath. Prisoners are on lockdown at all times, and only given one hour for outside activity, which often times they are restrained and guarded. There are sniper towers, there are armored vehicles (SWAT), there is high level security, you forget up here, you DIE. You are out in the middle of nowhere (In our case, on an island, deep in the forest, in the mountains, etc.) VERY difficult to break out of without alarms sounding and guards running around with high powered weapons.

Vaux respond to my message please, it has actual questions in it that are important.
Also, my dad has a tendency of taking my computer to game, so most week days I don't have good odds of getting on, weekends are best days for me to work on the build.

It'd be better to call both of them prisons as jails are just the place you go in the police station, while prisons are buildings just for holding convicts in.

there appears to be some confusion amongst some people, so allow me to make this perfectly clear:
there will be no drugs
ever.

Quantity has a quality of its own.

How long will dead bodies last on a server? Will a victim be able to see their dead body and report it? At that point wouldn't there be huge amounts of evidence against the murderer?

Hey, it's been a while.

What kind of progress has been made with the mod?
