I love the start button cause I hate having any icons on my desktop or taskbar.

You don't need a start button to not have any icons on your desktop or taskbar.

Then I'll just stare at my desktop and not open any programs. :cookieMonster:

Any about the ugliness, just get a theme that changes it or something. Mine looks like this:

it all depends
windows - good for gaming
mac - good for image/sound design
linux - good for hosting servers

If you press the start key and then begin typing the name of a program, it will appear. It can actually be a lot faster than clicking on things.

These are my thoughts too.

Now, another question is:
32 bit or 64 bit?

I keep the stuff I use pinned, and most of the time, I don't have my hands on my keyboard, so a couple clicks is quicker. Not to mention I'm a really stuffty typist.

64 bit is always better man

Yep, this. I always start everything like that.

That's good and all, but you're keeping it too narrow here. Each of these OSes can do each of these tasks just fine; the problem is, people are often narrow minded and biased towards one, and therefore software gets developed for one specific OS. As a result, usually games are set aside for Windows, server stuff for Linux, and art programs for Mac.

Don't believe that each does the others' "jobs" just fine? Here, have some Source Forge.
