Does anyone have any topics where the forum was nice to a new person/kid?
Because it doesn't seem like it ever was a nice community.

it's split currently and has been for a long time. probably always has been
there are the people who are mean to new people, and then there are the people who get mad at those people for being mean to new people
also, there is everyone else

In my opinion, you shouldn't make a "Hi, I'm new" thread. Observe the forum from outside and then slide in without acting like an idiot. There's no reason to make one.
