Author Topic: I made a pretty birch tree.  (Read 3935 times)

I think I just figured out how to make good trees, feel free to rest your eyes upon this beauty.

Ratings are welcome.

i thought it was a dr. seuss cactus before you put the leaves on, regardless that looks really pretty and you should release a save

I like it. The leaves are nice and the trunk is original. My only question is, why are the leaves tan? They should be green as usual.

I was going for more of a golden look.

Here's how it looks like with green leaves, I also removed the random branches.

Ah, I see. Maybe use a custom color or something for that. Tan is too bland, yet green is too... green.

i enjoy the checkerboard in the background

I made a new version and reduced the brickcount to almost a third.

These are great for scenic builds. 10/10
How long did it take for you to make the tree?

I liked the first version better, with the plates.

I still don't see your point. Are you telling me it's a bad build?!

It took a couple of minutes, much quicker on the second version as I realized you don't need any branches because the leaves will cover it up. You basically just build a white pole, create a pile of bricks and duplicate that pile all over the pole.

I can see why, but I'm planning to use this for a TDM so the no-spam version was kind of necessary.

So did you just wing it until I looked good, or did you find a specific technique that worked?

This is what I did:
