compooter specs:

Intel i5 3570 @ 3.4GHz
8GB ram
Geforce GTX 680

what the forget this is annoying every 30 seconds or so i get a lagspike playing nearly every game (except crysis 2 wtf) and its like my computer is saying "lol forget this stuff im outa here for .5 seconds" and then comes back.

what are your fraps settings?

what's running in the background?

have you tried recording to a separate hard drive?

lol wtf is this you can only record in some ghetto ass format or avi where you cant open it in vlc and a normal fraps video is 1GB and this is 6GB and its like the same length what the forget and when i watch it its really choppy even if i specify 30/60/120 fps (all do it) and thats restarted what the forget

It's better if you save to a different hard drive than the one you're recording from.

What? You don't "record from a hard drive". Unless you're talking about the OS drive or the drive the program stores most of it's data on.

You're not using recording software properly if you get lag spikes. Look up online good settings and codecs to use, or watch this video like I did.

This happens to me as well.

Has happened for awhile now, so I just don't use fraps anymore.

Try recording at a lower resolution like 1280x720. Anytime I try to record at my native resolution of 1280x1024, my hard drive bottlenecks, causing "lagspikes."

even with your new hard drive? because I'm starting to record fraps and I have the program on the other hard drive
