On most sites once you go onto it your IP is stored into their databases. Facebook is one of those, but sometimes we have to disregard that. A lot of the time when you enter in fake info to your page; you aren't protected still or encrypted in anyway. The Internet is a place where nothing is kept as a secret, and you can't stay anonymous on the Internet as people say you can.
There are ways to stay anonymous on the internet, but that has absolutely nothing to do with Facebook. Do you just not have enough friends to make a Facebook account for?

Had an Israeli roomate in college, he was a massive starfish. I just don't like people though. He was fully westernized though, so it's not like I could ask him about ethnic crap.

Two whole semesters, late August to mid-May. He played the guitar (terribly) at 3 in the morning during finals week, but because he was loving the RA we had no one to complain to since the RD was a total bitch.

For the love of god if you find that you're incompatible with your roomates within the first 2 weeks DON'T WAIT AND SEE. They're still moving people around that early in the semester and they'll find you a room with better people. Just go to your RD and hope to god she listens
