Author Topic: What desktop would you recommend for me?  (Read 1404 times)

Hello, I've been looking for a desktop computer for a while now. I already got a keyboard and mouse and other accessories ready, now all I need is the computer itself.
It needs to:
-Have windows 7
-Have some legit graphics card that can run shaders (if none in my budget can run shaders, just find a cheap and good one)
-Not be used (I don't want to get a dusty, old, loud computer and/or have to knock on some random guy's door)
-Be on either amazon, or ebay.
-Be under $300 (I can increase this budget if needed)
Please do the best searching you can and post it here. Thank you!

why do people keep asking for up to date, semi powerful gaming rigs for <$300

It's
Not
Going
To
Happen

You're going to be using old generation parts, the computer is going to run pretty badly, it's going to majorly outdated in a year, and it's going to look like stuff

Why can't people just save up money and WAIT to build a worthwhile computer

save up money you dingus

Don't expect anything decent for anywhere near that price.

I know, but I just bought it's mouse and keyboard and now I need the desktop. I can't really wait, this seems childish, but my computer is pretty outdated, is missing parts, and is limiting me to what I do.

okay just listen to me, okay?

you have angst on getting that new computer that can run all your favorite games and do what you want it to do, I know that feeling, but don't rush it.

If your budget is going to give you severe limitations, I guarantee you /will/ regret buying something and not just waiting.  Just save your money and get something that you can enjoy and appreciate for a decent amount of time

Save money by building a computer. You're not going to get a good one for $300 or under and especially when you buy it.

I'm sorry Pac, let's not be hypocritical, you're the one trying to pay $30/month for a VPS to host commercial servers on

a radeon 7970 is more than $400 retail to begin with, so gj

and Setro, the graphics card in that machine is about to be two generations old, I wouldn't suggest it

LOL IS THAT THE ONE YOU HAVE AT WORK?

Hey guys, how about this? (Yes I will save up for this if it's good) http://www.amazon.com/CyberpowerPC-Gamer-Ultra-GUA380-Desktop/dp/B009O7LZYK/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1376699602&sr=8-6&keywords=gaming+desktop
that GPU isn't that great. It will run shaders, but won't be great overall.
