here you aren't really sure if you should be making noise, so you stop pushing the button and simply rest a hand on it
you lighten your footsteps also, now only making gentle taps as you continue your tentative walk

soon the only lighting is that which comes from yourself
dim yellow flickers across glass panes on doors, offering up a trembling reflection of yourself
far, far behind you is the orange spot that is the door through which you entered
its' glow no longer offers any light and has reduced itself to a mere twinkle on the horizon

the darkness weighs heavily upon you, sucking up whatever light there was to offer
