i keep getting randomly blocked from certain sites

for no apparent reason, i sometimes get blocked from going to specific sites, with a message saying "access restricted" and talking about parental controls, but i don't think i even have parental controls on - and if they were, they should be on all the time and not just randomly
it's not too hard to fix since if i log out and log back in it'll go back to normal, but it's really annoying
i can't remember all the sites it blocks but it usually blocks the forums, as well as a couple other forums i go to, but it doesn't block tumblr and i think a few others aren't block either
i don't know what triggers it but it seems like it's just random
why is it doing this, and is there a way to fix it permanently?

also i'm using a mac, keep that in mind (this is not an invitation to spam the thread with how much you hate macs)

i can't check because i don't have the admin password for the computer but i doubt it, especially since the sites i'm blocked from and not blocked from are really random

i have no way of getting the admin password

see the thing is it seems like the default parental controls because the error page shows the logo for the default mac parental controls () but it doesn't seem like it's done intentionally by my parents because 1. it turns on at completely random times but is off most of the time and 2. the sites that it blocks are random (it blocks dragon cave, but not tumblr, and i don't know why my parents would block dragon cave)

i was wondering if it's some weird virus but maybe i'm just paranoid

If it's anything like what I helped a friend of mine out with, it blocks key words like "nude" or "18+" or random phrases along those lines as a default.

It seems like your parents have it on and it's picking up on certain discussions on websites.

that would make sense for things like forums since the front page is changing frequently but it doesn't make sense on dragon cave because right now it's not blocking it but a few minutes ago it was, and nothing on the page has changed if that makes sense

Anyhoo, you should just ask your parents to turn it off or add this forum to the list of trusted sites.

Of course, any parent in their right mind wouldn't let their kids use this website.
