Author Topic: Flight to Nowhere - A text adventure.  (Read 2584 times)

You awake with a start. You are reluctant to open your eyes, but manage to do so without any difficulty. As your eyes open, light streams in from above and in front of you is a wall. The pattern on the wall is very plain, consisting of small lines 'criss-crossing' each other, the entire wall colored a light cream color. The very simple pattern is soothing, and nearly puts you back to sleep, but you force your eyes to stay open.

As you look up, light streams into your retinas with increasing intensity, but your eyes quickly adjust. You quickly realize you are staring directly into a light panel. Lowering your gaze and looking to your right, you see a mirror with a counter right below it. As you begin to look to your left, you catch a small glimpse of silver on the wall. It is only slightly tarnished, but you still can't make out what it says.

What do you do?

[note: i'm debating making art for this. perhaps it'd be easier to visualize things, but i don't know yet.]

Why is this called Flight to Nowhere if you're in a building? Doesn't make sense.

Just wait.

Just wait.
I'm going to guess you're on some giant ship or you're going to be loaded onto one and it's huge and you need to find a way out of it.

No. Just enter a command. Stop trying to guess.

Contemplate the mysterious wonder that occurs to be your naval region.

Also, attempt to recall your name, and anything else that may help us visualize yourself.

Ignore the silver thingy.  It's obviously a trap designed to put you back to sleep again(remember the wall?).  Perhaps a trigger word or somesuch.

Instead, check to see of you are bound in place, and take a rough figure of the size of the room.  Maybe there's a way out?  If there's no door, I bet there's very little behind that light panel aside from a sheet of reflective aluminum and some wires.

You attempt to move your hands and, unsurprisingly, find them to be tied. You cannot look behind you or move your torso. You attempt to push back from the wall with your feet, but you quickly hit a wall behind you. Another counter maybe? You look to the left, and notice a metal frame around a thinner wall, with an indent on the right side of the wall. A door. You make note that the room is extremely narrow, and the door is to the left of you. Now to get these binds off. You attempt to stand up, but there's not enough space to pull your legs under you and kneel.

What now?

Well, you're quite obviously a man. You're wearing a white button up shirt, and black slacks. Your shirt is slightly stained with a yellow liquid, and your shoes are a bit fogged up.

You look down toward your stomach. Yes. You have a navel.

What's the liquid? Identify it, ya pusillanimous individual. You are the protagonist. There is nothing you cannot do.
