Would it be possible to make a rollercoaster in BL?

I was thinking I could use terrain + cars along a "track" that you drive down to simulate a rollercoaster. Is this possible?

You could use chrisbot's trains mod I guess, it would probably be very jumpy though.

I was talking about using more of regular cars that you would just use to drive, I tried making one go straight up and it didn't work probably because of the fact that you can't go upside down typically.

Twists and turns are actually really possible. But not loops or corkscrews.

i made functioning water rides with the innertube vehicle.
thats KINDA like a roller coaster. its better then a vehicle though because the person rides it and dosnt need to control anything unless they wanna turn around for a diff view.

i would think with slides similar to mr. block's, ramps and velocity events you could pull one off with default events.

Yeah, I was going to make a roller coasters but, I was going to do a inverted coaster, I think it won't work on BL.

Reminds me of the old days, pretty much everyone and their dog tried to make a rollercoaster that worked

Bisjac I like that idea and I'll be sure to get that addon. Right now currently I just had an idea for one but this would probably end up in tumble madness.

You would set up invisible boundaries on the top and sides of the rollercoaster's track, so the player is stuck there until it's over. and then when the player gets on, they get skis. they click on the skis and use it with the track to do drops loop de loop etc. if anyone wants to work on this tomorrow w/ me, add me on rtb ID 14944

It's possible, but the coaster physics would be a bit all over the place and whacky. I think that you'd have to design the coaster first on Blender or Milkshape.

I've build several rollercoasters with loops where you go upside-down and it worked fine.
