blockzilla it's a thing we call 'busy work' and it doesn't help you at all

Yes, the more, the better you are at it. How do you think people learn? By magic?
I can understand this but 2400 is way to loving much.

Buildabox pretty much just wrote what I was writing.

EDIT: I've been sitting here for about 2 hours and I'm on page 23

when you're not good at something, doing 10 times more work isn't going to help you in the slightest

Solving 2,400 equations in one sitting won't make you learn any more than solving like 50 in one sitting.
^ this

tbh i would think that you would be more able to remember things you learned at a slower pace than if you learned them all at once if that makes sense?
like if you try and learn a ton of things at once you would be more likely to forget them since you'd get tired and it's hard to try and remember a lot of things at once, but if you just learn some every day it's easier to remember it

idk maybe that's wrong but i think it makes sense

Except that Algebra is important. Don't be one of those stupid kids who think school is a waste of time.
Okay.. Okay lol.
I'm older than you, don't call me kid. It makes you look dumb as horsestuff. Also no, you're wrong.. admit it.

So because I said doing two chapters is trivial you say I'm trying to say school is a waste of time? Huh.. Considering I'm a graduate I'd find that kind of silly.

I was implying that what she was asking him to do is overboard and trivial. Like picking up a bunch of toothpicks off the floor.. but you have to use tweezers to do it. Why? No one knows.

I'm good at it, Its just that this is over doing it.
I'm not a loving mathematical wizard or something.

Well in a sitting 2,400 is a bit too much if they are the repeated equation processes.

most schools teach 2 chapters of algebra in a time-span of 1-2 weeks, usually about 10-20 practice questions a day.

now cram it all into 1 day and I guarantee OP will learn nothing.

Okay.. Okay lol.

You worded it as if Algebra is trivial. I apologize.

So she got me a new algebra book and she told me to do 2 chapters.
Each chapter is 60 pages and each page as about 20 equations.
20 x 120 = 2400. Why! I don't want to answer 2400 equations!

I don't think that's crazy, she wants you to learn and get ahead. I'm coached by my parents too with workbooks, it isn't stupid. If she wants you to do all of the pages and 2 chapters within one day, then that'd be crazy but I'm assuming she just wants it done at some point which isn't crazy of her.

it's literally like trying to cram a units worth of material in a day before a huge test

op wont learn jack stuff

she said you had to do those 2 sections

but she never said WHEN they were due did she?

just do it across a month or so and use that loophole

My mom cut me some slack and told me to do 2 lessons but I did 6 lessons.
Extra credit?

Why not? It's algebra, how hard can it be?
lol
it's still math, would probably take a while. as easy as it may be it's still 2400 problems.

while i highly agree, 2400 equations in one sitting is still way too much.

good.  all work and no play makes for depressed children.  just do some lessons every day that should make her happy, not to mention you'll probably have a leg up in school now.
