Author Topic: My Dad has a Virginian Dragoon .44 [Now with pics!]  (Read 5874 times)

Actually, it's my great grandfather's. I just don't like the grip.
You probably don't deserve it then.

Dude, that thing's practically an heirloom, and the mahogany handle looks great with it. I highly advise against replacing it.

What did you say?
Your dad has a Virgin Dragon?!

Are you really that stupid, or is it a trick of the light?

It is an heirloom, but the inscription is on the bottom of the metal part of the handle. Also, after looking at it again, the inscription is "Sic Semper Tyrannis".

I'd still personally advise against it, but.. Your hand cannon, I suppose.

I have it in Stainless Steel, and it is a six shot. Any tips for shooting?

Pull the trigger slowly, breath slower.

Virginia state has that on their flag I think. Just shoot it like you would any other gun?

A .44 revolver is a big gun, and has a lot of recoil.

Do this
Ouch.
That'd hurt even more with the sight on the end of the revolver.

when you shoot it, hold it really firmly with two hands

squeeze the trigger very slowly so you don't anticipate the shot and mess up your aim

This. Tensing up in preparation for the kick will throw off your aim pretty badly, and I guarantee you'll miss. Never yank the trigger, that's almost worse.

And I sweat to whatever God exists if you hold it sideways...

Your dad is John Wilkes Booth?
