but it is not old enough to understand mortality
yes it is? there is nothing proving that 3 year olds do not recognize mortality.

3 year olds think that if you make them not able to see an object, that it has vanished from existence. they don't understand the concept of death.

they do not understand the full consequences of death, but they know it is something tragic and sad.

I think society is getting more sensitive, but gradually.
I've not been offended in a long time, though, and just don't care. I understand the gravity of events, and generally I won't make insensitive jokes, but I don't mind if somebody does. My grandfather died of skin cancer, and if anyone makes cancer jokes or calls something or someone cancer, I don't even flinch.
I think if everyone had this attitude, there would be a lot less trouble.

No, I think society is getting way more careless. Sometimes I'm against what people say and I stand beside my opinion.

I think that, at least where I live, we've gotten less sensitive. Plenty of people at my school say monday and really nobody bats an eye because nobody gives a stuff.

No, people are getting less sensitive and dumber. Nailed it.

people are sensitive about things that are controversial at the time

Since when was the blockland forums a society

First few pages are full of this. No, 9/11 wasn't funny, but jokes about it are.

I find this hilarious. I really do. We aren't saying it wasn't horrible, or making it a joke. We are making a joke out of it.

I'd tell you guys a holocaust joke but I don't know any, Anne Frankly I don't think there very funny. :P

I find that People are either becoming more aggressive, stupid, or more sensitive. Man if I had a dollar for every angsty tumblr 14 year old I'd be rich I'd finally be able to buy a B-17 bomber and fly it over the barren African land scape dropping empty metallic shells full of drought resistant seeds for agriculture. Also people really need to stop using facebook, as too many kids become easy targets for trolls and kill themselves.
