Author Topic: recovering a blockland save  (Read 779 times)

i had just finished building a Lego castle in blockland so i saved it, cleared bricks and started to build the next one. when i finished building the next one i accidentally saved it over the previous castle.
is there any way i can recover the overwritten build?

unless you have a backup
probably not

crap. its not to big of a loss cuz i can just rebuild it with the instructions again.

You should download the "Save Saver" from RTB. It creates backups when you overwrite save files.

Likely, it may be lost forever since it'd probably overwrite the file itself, but if you haven't saved much blockland saves or download large files after the incident, you may have a chance. Download a program like Recuva and try to find the save file and if your lucky the save will be in decent condition. The faster you do this, the better chance you may have to recover the file in some form.

The most important part of this; if your main hard drive is a SSD, the file is unrecoverable. If you have a HDD, and if your very very lucky, the save will still exist in some form in the hard drive.

Of course, this only works if BL deletes the overwritten file; if it just opens it and writes new data to it (it is the same format, after all), it probably won't be recoverable.
