Seems a bit of a waste.

Might as well get a 3DS. They look nicer, fold away to a small size (being more portable), have stereo sound speakers, and display in 3D.

And according to that article, they're not a whole lot more expensive.

Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is. It's a 3DS without the 3D for people who can't afford a regular one.
I may get this as a gift for my cousin.

Same here.

It's a tad heavier and a lil' bit bulkier than the original DS, but it has a better shape (it's square, rather than the DS' trapezoid shape).
It's quite comfortable in my pocket.
