Why does it matter which is better? They're all the same anyways.

COD is fast paced action where everyone just run and guns, Battlefield on the other hand, is about teamwork and communication with your team. YOU NEED TO WORK TOGETHER IN ORDER TO WIN

COD is more about fast pace gameplay. No time to think so just do. BF is more about strategy and thinking. They are two different games that are made for different people. If you're one of those guys that can just naturally be good at COD then fine. I don't care because I'M someone who prefers to think. I honestly don't see why people are comparing these two games.

I play both and bf can be just as fast paced

If I feel like playing a game that is full of bullstuff but will allow me to kill something every ten seconds I'll play cod. If I feel like playing a game that is just overall better but typically slower paced and more serious I'll play bf. If I want something in between I'll play halo lol

OT: lmfao 'cinematic destruction' and the dog ending

Oh god I laughed my ass off.

Showed this to my brother who is a COD fan, and he just stormed out of the room in the middle of the video.

Holy stuff they're both FPS's in the same time period with the same mechanics. You can compare the two, you're just loving pulling straws. It's illegitimate to compare like, Starcraft 2 to Halo 4. They're both sci-fi but they are two totally different loving genres.

Star wars battlefront is one of the best multiplayer game of all time. It has the perfect blend of strategy and action.
Battlefront was fun as forget but you're deluding yourself if you think there was "a perfect blend of strategy and action". It was just a worse version of Battlefield 1942 with Star Wars skins.

Even when I'm playing with and talking to my friends when we play BF3 we do well even though we suck at communicating.
On Xbox BF3 I don't communicate at all and still do well.
You really don't have to communicate in BF3 to be able to do well and win.

^^^^ if the codcigarettes actually played bf before bringing up their "can't compare" arg I'm sure they'd know that teamwork isn't fully required to play and they'd keep their mouths shut

The thread stinks of fanboyism, the op is comparing apples to oranges. When you looks past the time periods, graphics, weapons, factions, ect then one game is a war-themed class based teamwork game, the other is fast quake-like shoot em up with aiming and is slightly war-themed. I enjoyed CoD 1 and Battlefield 1942 back in the day. I don't see why you have to like one or the other when you can like both.

If you really wanted to compare apples to apples try Call of Duty vs Medal Honor Allied Assault.

from someone who plays both, it is damn hard to compare the fans of one or the other; BF fans have friends who play BF, and CoD fans like the quicker leveling system and overall faster pace of CoD. The main humongous difference is that CoD fans are indifferent to BF players; BF players seem to look at CoD players as all being immature children no matter what.

I like Arma and Rising Storm. Battlefield and Call of Duty are childs play.  :cookieMonster:

This.

COD and Battlefield are essentially the same thing when you bring games like Arma and Rising Storm in the mix.

I dont remember there being space battles were you jave to destroy a mothership or a hunt mode were you are an indigenous species of the planet trying to defend yourself in battlefield 1942. Also hero assault.

No but there were naval battles where you had to sink the enemy's carrier (Coral Sea) and battles that were almost entirely ship-to-ship engagements (Midway); and hunt and hero assault were stuffty and poorly thought out gamemodes that just proved that the game suffers when it's trying to be different from 1942.
