Please help: annoying ads appearing in text

ok so whenever words are displayed on my screen random ones get highlighted, and when i mouse over them ads pop up. I am using google crome as my browser, and there is not an extension. The program generating these ads is called search assistant and it is not on my computer anywhere. tips on how to remove?



Also, when i am browsing the forums, this tab opens on its own, has happened 4 times today.

Uhh Windows Defender Pro is a virus? Windows Defender is the actual program.
Get Malwarebytes

Uninstall any fishy programs you installed before this started. Also, download superantispyware and run a full scan if malwarebytes misses something somehow.

Remove the extension from Chrome.

Wrong, it's still on the computer but not active. Plus virus scans won't work. Uninstall the extension from chrome then search for that program in all files. Remove that folder that comes up.
