Author Topic: Found out my dad could lose his job.  (Read 2993 times)

So yesterday my dad came home from work and was talking to my mom for awhile. Turns out he could lose his job. He's part of a Union and some members want a raise but they don't want to give them this raise. So there could be a strike. My dad said it would also affect 160 other people. He's been working this job since he was 17 years old. It sucks but I'm not too worried really. Even of he did lose his job my mother still works and my sister is out of the house. It's kind of a bummer though :(

In many small towns especially in the Mid-West and Western PA, jobs would be much harder to get and less stabilized without the Union's. I hope all goes well for your dad, and doesn't lose the job.

If my dad loses his job then im forgeted

I hope your dad keeps his job bro, my dad lost his and now we are stuck back here again.

I hope your dad isn't trying to push it since he's in a union. Unions always ruin everything.

I hope your dad keeps his job. Good luck, buddy.

Ahhh unions

Best of hopes to you, unemployment affects the entire family

my dad lost his job like three years ago, but my moms works too and he got another job like less then a month later

arent unions the greatest thing

you can't strike in a slow economy, those positions will instantly be filled by non-union members

yep

If he gets laid off then he'd have to find part time stuff

My father got fired from Johnson Controls, sat around for almost a year playing League of Legends, got another job at Dell, quit, and then got another job at a green power company ( which is his best job.)

Hope your dads keeps his job. I can't imagine what would happen if my dad lost his job.
