Author Topic: iphone 5s utilizes fingerprint scanning  (Read 6525 times)

My major beef with anything apple makes is the price point. Everything they do is just fine but for the prices they charge it's crazy. Except phones, I think that's what they do best. When I upgraded to a smart phone I only chose android because it was the same price and I've never liked the Iphone's UI that much. A month or two after I bought my phone they had the $1 iphone upgrade which pissed me off. I spent like $100 on my Droid Razr but if there was an Iphone for a dollar I would have taken it in a heart beat.

But the biggest thing apple has going for it is it's app market. But I feel like android is coming close. Really though I can't bring myself to give a stuff about phones. All I use mine for is streaming music, playing solitaire, some texting, and the occasional phone call. I'm sure most modern smart phones can handle it no problem.

Apple products aren't even that expensive lol, buy it on a contract and you just pay £40 something a month and don't notice. 5s looks sick, tempted to replace my 5 with a gold one.

except, according to apple during the keynote, fingerprints are never stored online in any way.

Yeah they said any stored anywhere but a secure area on the CPU

Now it costs 500 bucks more.

obviously some sheeple will still buy it on launch, but what can you do about idiots with money.

What i mean to say is that the whole fingerprint scanning stuff is stupid and useless.

hardware to price ratio they are a bit more expensive than other companies

but a lot of people don't take Apple's exclusive things into consideration, and blame Apple for charging for the name.

But in reality Apple usually includes things that other phones don't include that are exclusive, iMessage, the cloud, simplicity of file sharing between Apple products, etc

iMessage
just something that caught my eye, i don't see how the forget this is "exclusive" in any way. unless your definition of exclusive means locked down and useless

aaand fair enough

I meant exclusive in the exact way the word is defined.

No other device has iMessage, didn't say it was good or useful or whatever, I said it is exclusive to Apple products, which it is.

sheeple
Stopped there.

Also no, it doesn't cost $500 more.  Where the hell did you get that from?

I never really cared about smart phones. I've never sent a text and still use the call feature on my old phone.

Texting only makes humans more shy, in the past it was okay for strangers to talk in public. Now every keeps to themselves and stares a small phone screen seeing if they got a new text.

Now it costs 500 bucks more.
Not true. The price is the same as every iPhone prior to it. You're thinking of the signing price, which is $199. The $699 you're seeing is if you buy it off of contract-- it's the same way with Android phones.

oh
havent laptops had these for like
years

yeah i really dont think this is that much of a game changer
they're just trying to save their stock

That's not fingerprint technology.

I don't see what's exclusive about any of that, other then what apple named them.

I mean that stuff has always existed and is for dozens of free alternatives on all devices.

apple pats themselves on the back way to much.
fanboys have to justify their waste of money and convince themselves they have something special

iMessage is amazing, don't think I know anyone who doesn't have an iPhone anymore, would be lost without it. Gonna ring up my mobile provider when it's out to see how much an upgrade would cost.
