This is awesome and feasible. The phone base is pretty much a motherboard for a computer. It might take a lot of work to get this to work well, but if they can pull it off it would be amazing.

I don't see how it's impossible? I mean it may not be as simple as just going to the store and buying little pretty blocks that you think would go well but isn't this pretty much how computers work?

The sides should be rounded somehow so it does not hurt your hands. Round case over the blocks, maybe?
