Author Topic: Retron 5: 5-in-one nostalgic game console - Your opinion?  (Read 3080 times)

there were legitimate cases where you could end up spending 70 dollars on a broken, glitchy, nonfunctional loving mess of a game.
action 52

No loving stuff, that applies to anything ever. My point is you're saying how modern games are garbage while ignoring that retro games were consistently worse. And I don't mean that they were just less fun to play or more limited, I mean that there were legitimate cases where you could end up spending 70 dollars on a broken, glitchy, nonfunctional loving mess of a game.
It's true that they were more lenient with that stuff, but at least they were somewhat unique. Sometimes, it's like FPS after FPS. Yes, retro games could be VERY bad, but I don't think the majority were.
what do you disagree or something
it was the angry birds of the 80s
I disagree, and I honestly have never seen anyone in my life diss Mario like that.

you guys? lol. im fairly sure just about everyone on the forum is edgy enough to play old video games. not me though.
I'm edgy for wanting to play games from when I was a child?

What the forget? Back then you had like, 3 choices: Sidescrolling beatemup, sidescrolling platformer, or sidescrolling space shooter. Platformers themselves were the FPS of their time in that there were so goddamn many of them and most of them sucked.

You can think whatever you want, but you're still wrong.

How can I be wrong when this is opinion? Sure, broken down messes of games were bad, but some people like games and some don't. It's my opinion that the majority were good, and I respect your opinion. But frankly, we are straying away from the main topic.

Also way back then, game creators were so limited. Nowadays, you can create anything.

How can I be wrong when this is opinion?
just because your opinion is that "the majority of old games were not stuff" doesn't mean that the majority of old games weren't stuff
the majority of old games were stuff, regardless of what you think
"the majority" is generally a statistical statement and your opinion cannot change a statistic like that

How can I be wrong when this is opinion?
Okay you'd better make sure you're wearing a helmet here bucko because I am about to blow your mind.
Opinions, those views and judgments formed without necessarily being based in actual fact or knowledge, can be wrong. I know, right? Isn't that weird? Now, I know this is probably shocking but I'm going to try and ease the pain with a little example. If I spend two hours drinking until I can barely stand, and on the way home I wrap my car around a tree, it doesn't matter that in my drunken stupid opinion I was okay to drive. You cannot deny a fact and wield "MUH OPINIONS" like a shield, that's just ignorant and foolish.

Also way back then, game creators were so limited. Nowadays, you can create anything.
If you think that this current console generation is free from limitations you are sorely mistaken.

Fine, I'm honestly done with arguing this issue. I know, I'm backing out of this, but I don't know how to respond to this anymore. Frankly, the topic is derailed also.

I guess you could say, my mind was blown.

I think you meant to say Pac-Man

what I want is some kindof actual good controller that can be mapped to normal keyboard keys

joy2key

At this point the idea for bring retro games back is turning into a pretty overused concept for the gaming industry of this decade.

"Hey guys let's bring back the good 'ol days because forget progression!"
this is basically what im trying to say.

because you lost? lol.

forget yeah, outdated technology.

I think you meant to say Pac-Man
pac man is more comparable to candy crush
and if you think Mario doesn't have stuff like that, you're blind

this is basically what im trying to say.because you lost? lol.
Uhm, no not exactly. I'm just tired of arguing my point because I'm getting nowhere.
