the holes are where LEDs are supposed to go

That's amazing, how did you make that?

I made it in a program that I literally don't know the name of and then it was lasercut out

Cool, I remember doing this with a sleigh for Christmas (Tech school) extremely satisfying to see it working.

Didn't Pecon do this for Blockheads?

I loving wish my school could afford the cool stuff when I was going through shops.
But nooope.

We had to silk screen T-Shirts by hand.

My school can do this, just without the laser technology.
But damn I wish we had laser cutters.

oh thats cool
sometime soon im looking to build a tabletop arcade system using a raspberry pi, so i might document it on blogland in the creations forum

Autocad?

Yes, but that was a 3D Printer, where it was made out of plastic. This was laser-cut from sheet-metal.

Autocad?
Autocad makes models, but it was probably made in a CNC program, so it could be transferred and machined. It's pretty simple, but still neat.

and those models can be used inside CNC machines, even thought the third dimension is a constant, it is still present, the only time a 3 render isn't used is in a standard printer, CNC machines require a full 3D model or corresponding vectors

That's exactly why autocad shouldnt be used with machining. I use a program directly connected to the machine at my work.  I believe the software came from the same company.

well yeah, if your CNC does have its own set of software, that should take priority over anything else, but any 3d model software will work if exported correctly

i misunderstood what you were saying, my bad
