Author Topic: Teleportation = Impossible  (Read 4596 times)

that's impractical, and you'd be crushed by the force of the vacuum occurring around you
but you'd teleport out of the vacuum before the force will even start to put any pressure around you

not by how current physics apply :|
I know, it's really weird, but not every single atom would theoretically teleport at the same instant, so the left atoms would be crushed and basically create nuclear fusion inside your body from the semi-vacuum that occurs when some of the atoms disappear

Impossible right now but would be so loving cool

personally I think we should look into super-high-speed transportation (think like those really fast trains, but faster) before we go looking for ways to teleport

they have been into this a lot recently, the problem is practical applications won't work.

A lot of theories include using a vacuum, which imagine how long a perfect seal on a railway that is ~100 miles long is going to last.

Other theories are different versions of magpull trains, but the energy requirement is insane

edit; here's a nice idea that probably wont ever be done, named the hyperloop: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperloop

Teleportation is possible it just requires very slow advances

I think it'd take much more than 100 years for teleportation to be physically possible. It really depends on how long the human race survives.

Seems like portals are a lot more feasible than the disassemble - reassemble particles type of teleportation.

But if you think about it, if we could do the disassemble - reassemble particles type of teleportation, then we would probably be just as capable of making human copy machines.

Unless the forgeters decide to put a 250 minute limited usage or a battery life on teleportation pods it'll probably be better than driving in the long run.

Wait a couple more centuries.

I don't think it's 100% impossible, but with the technology and science we know now, I highly doubt it'll be made anytime soon unless a major breakthrough is made, despite the pace of technology overall.

As selfish as it sounds, I'd rather there be a breakthrough in medical science that leads to triple, quadruple, or even octuple life expectancy so I can see all the cool stuff that's going to happen in the future.

imagine throwing a live grenade in your teleporter and setting the destination to "random"
