Author Topic: so what do you guys think about white people using "the n word"  (Read 3701 times)

Caribou's so white, you could put some salt on him and call em potato chips.

I'm not that white in the sense of me being pale, but I admit... I AM A LAYS POTATO CHIP!

"It's ok, my best friend is black"

it's a word, I don't understand why there's a big deal about it

sure, if used in a derogatory sense, the person should be reprimanded, but that's the same for any swear word.

Why does nobody ever bring up the fact that blacks constantly use the word cracker in a derogatory sense but are little to never reprimanded for it?

When and where?

I'd say that black people use it alot less than white people saying monday.

And white people aren't reprimanded by anyone for using the n word. Like, never.

Swear words and racial words are really put into two different categories. I honestly don't come across many blacks who say cracker, I just see them saying the N word to their own or us whites saying the N word.

I see no reason why a society would forcibly forbid people from saying any combination of letters.

On the other hand, I do see a reason for respecting people.

you're probably right, it is a lot less common, and from my knowledge you're wrong about whites not being reprimanded

Swear ~= Slander, sorry for the miscommunication

I see whites saying the N word all the time and there is no punishment as a result 95% of the time.

Maybe they're punished in the sense that they get called out for using it out and public loud for everyone to hear or saying it to the face of a black person, both of which are just asking to be slapped. You shouldn't say stuff like that to anyone anyways.

But I never see anyone get riled up when a white person says monday. They may look at you like you're crazy if they happen to hear it, but that's okay.

The point is don't say stuff you have no business saying.

I guess it's a location thing then, I know around where I am if a white person used the n word near a black person, they would be pretty severely reprimanded

I think that either way the person should be reprimanded. If you are black, it still shouldn't give you the right to call your own group the N word. It's just not right.
