Author Topic: mini rant: "ask your parents permission before going online"  (Read 8468 times)

I know I've posted one thread already and just a little while before but I just saw an ad for a Disney game or website or whatever stuff Disney's doing online and at the end it showed some 14 year olds and it said "Ask your parent's permission before going online!" That has to be the dumbest stuff. Disney is Disney, they're not going to have anything inappropriate, or else they'd be sued out their wazoo probably, so why the forget do they still have this on ads for places with no ads or inappropriate language + with comment censoring?

It's just that parents are too protective many times.

it says that on every commercial for an online children website

It's just that parents are too protective many times.
But why? Hot Wheels asked for parents permission and the worst thing they had on their website was loving Space Invaders.

Believe it or not, there are people with different household agendas than your family might.
Parents might restrict their child's time spent on a computer (and for good reasons too).

I understand that there are people with different household agendas.
I was once limited to no computer time, I was once the same age as the kids in the ads that are young.
I still don't see it.

because some parents don't want their children going on the computer without them knowing
that or they want to supervise the child's computer use and make sure they don't go anywhere the parent doesn't want them to

whenever i heard or read this, i was always like "nah forget that"

i dont think anyone under 16 should be on the net

That's reasonable.

proof that everyone who plays disney games will turn into submissive bdsm freaks
all of the disney admins breathe down their neck waiting for them to forget up
