Author Topic: Please help me understand this save/load system better.  (Read 1796 times)

So, when I save stuff on MY baseplates, the player's bricks which were on my baseplate become mine, but when I make this plate PUBLIC to circumvent this issue, it works for 3 or 4 saves, but then ALL of the save become ALL-PUBLIC after a little while, so noone can modify their bricks.

What do I do to circumvent this ownership trade-off in the save-load system? Is there a way?

When you save with ownership it loads all the bricks as the owner of the baseplate. When you load as public bricks you can do /dpb then you will be able to edit the public bricks.

a mod could potentially rewrite all of saving and loading but that would be a pain

it's not too difficult to write a save system but idk if that kind of mod is even allowed

not easy but not super difficult
you can still use the built in system for saving events and such, saving the rest isn't too hard
