Author Topic: Soft shadows  (Read 104493 times)

When saving the text file, put .glsl into the file name and for good measure, click the button below the save name and change it from Text Document to All Files
Didn't work. Can anybody put up their shader_frag file up for download as a glsl?

Also, how is it possible to get 9 fps with max soft shaders when running blockland WITHOUT steam (normal old way to start)

... and the same map and same setting, getting 25 fps, but with the game running through steam???

Explain me i dont get it

What's the difference between Ultra and Normal? Does Normal refer to Blockland default or does Port have two improved shaders?

Laggy. But lovey. But laggy.

Ultra version of soft shadows tries to make a bloom like effect on the shadows by making the edges of the shadows lighter than areas deep in shadows, while the normal version of soft shadows just softens the shadows IIRC.

Make a copy of renderCsm_vert.glsl and name it soft_vert.gls
????

Theory: Steam tries to improve shadows... hard to word but... it like... makes shaders run easily on your computer. For steam; Sylvanor, it lets you run faster fps for shaders. Without it, less. I think thats why I cant even run minimum through launching steam.

theres no different between the two exe files. the only difference is that Steam's blockland is opened with the --steam flag.

I forgot to back up when I got this
now I lag like hell whenever I turn on shaders
I need the original code back

There is no original code, just restart blockland, if you set it to read-only, set it to not read only, or delete those files.

not on steam, with the steam version you have to have a copy of the original file
if you're using steam, delete the files and then (through steam) verify the integrity of game cache
or that
