Author Topic: Error - Out Now!  (Read 4025 times)

Hey y'all, here is my latest. It's currently a work in progress, which I don't normally make posts about. However, I want to see if allowing people to suggest changes while it's still in the works will help make it a better piece in the end. So if you have time, give it a listen (completely, if possible), and tell me if there's anything you think I could improve. Almost done now, this part's irrelevant.

It's done!

The kick (as well as the snare, but not so much); for what you're going for, feels like it has slightly too much reverb.
That wavey; metal sound that comes in around *3:00*, sounds awkward and out of place for the first segment it comes in, like it's off beat. (Though you already mentioned that in the comments)
The start (first 50 seconds) feels a little flat, even for a build-up, Maybe after 53 seconds: have it come to full volume (possibly louder than the main track) instead of still being under the cut-off?
So far this track sounds pretty good, mastering is a thing too, but that comes later.

Thanks. I have already fixed most everything - replaced some major keys with minor ones, fixing volume issues, adding in an accent synth, less reverb, better automation, better timing, and overall louder volume. However, I liked the main lead synth how it was, and I just had to go mess it up. And now I can't make it sound the same, for some reason. So, I need to find a suitable lead/bass synth to replace the current one, give it a few more listens, make some minor adjustments, and release.

Hate it when that happens

Sounds good; I really want to see how this turns out!

Cool, nice to know I have at least one person waiting for its release. XD

So, do you make music too?

I haven't finished anything: I mess around a lot.
When I try to make something I either end up playing with pads too much: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTzHD9Gvp6o
or I do something too "oonce oonce": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCH2_2IuJr0 (Synth sounds good on this one, but the beat is weak)

I try; we can talk about it more over PM, if you like: so as to not spam the topic.

where'd you get that snare? i've been looking for something that sounded like that for a while

ot: it sounds pretty good so far, pretty much the only thing i can think of is mastering

Snare is from the StudioPrimeLoops sample pack released by Monstercat. I downloaded the pack by liking a few Facebook pages.

Yeah, the mastering is pretty much done, obviously no longer what you hear on my SoundCloud. I just need to get that one synth just right... I hope to have it fixed tonight. The lead bass synth might not end up sounding anything like it does in this WIP. *sigh*

Also, if there's anyone else out there who's had their eardrums nearly destroyed by a rogue Synth1 setup? Holy freaking cow, I'm glad I was using my headphones and not my earbuds, or I'd probably be deaf by now. ;-;

Bump because it's completed!

I like it, but I wonder what it would sound like remixed, faster. More BPM.

Um, BPM's already at 180, lol.

Sorry, but this one's finished. :( Trying a different style for my next track.

The mastering is sorta weird but the song itself is decent.
