Which has contributed more to Blockland?

The Development Team
The Modding Community

Author Topic: Development Team OR Modding Community?  (Read 4962 times)

I'd say both are equally important, blockland would lose a lot more players in a vanilla state

Here's how I view it

If the game was open source, the modding team would be the lifeline of the game

Since it's not, the only influential changes are made through the dev's

However, the modding team is good at creating other things to have fun with

It's like asking who has helped you most in life, with parents on the list. Like, no matter what your relationship with them is, you kinda wouldn't exist without them, y'know...

Looking past that, though I'm gonna say modding community. While the dev team made it and update it, the modding community is what really keeps it alive. If Badspot and anyone else stopped working on it one day, it would probably go on for years through the modding community. (Provided he still pays for the master server of course.)

damn you made a mistake. badspot got pissed at the fact that space guy took the wrench events idea and make a half-assed version before badspot finished his. so much that he brought it back up years later.he was probably even more pissed that noobs actually thought space guy's events were the 'original' conception.

You're mocking me aren't you?

Was a simple mistake.

Regardless my point still stands. A lot of add-ons have influenced the game's updates.

i wouldnt play without all the mods for the game

You should let people select two options.

You should let people select two options.
Nah, if that were possible, 90% of people would say both, and that's not a very interesting answer.

well the modding community has given us about 5% of the content.

i mean if you dont count copy-cat stuff over and over and over and over and over....

so yeah i would say badspot gave us most everything we need and use

Quite interesting answers.
For all those answering that both are integral, yes, we all understand that both are integral to the game's existence and continued playability and I wanted to make people pick one or the other, that was the goal here.

I think it all really comes down to what you like more and what you use more of.
Keep answering guys, this is a great topic.

its like asking whats better, a bland bar of stuff, or a photo of intangible ice cream.
if blockland had no modding, it'd get old incredibly fast. or maybe we'd thrive under building as apposed to anything else.

I don't understand this brown townogy at all.

I don't understand this brown townogy at all.
if there was no modding in blockland, it'd just stay as a building game

forever

unless badspot/rotondo adds new content, which is not very often
so it gets old real quick without all those fancy weapon gadgets and all those custom scripts and events

if there was no development team, blockland would never have been created, but there still would've been a modding community, so, if blockland existed, it would've been really great

sort of like that toontown revisited game coming up???

blockland forumers aren't good at brown townogies

You should let people select two options.
so people could say both were more important than eachother?

i think that's a paradox

The development team keeps it alive because...it's the Development team...without it, there wont be Blockland. They update constantly to satisfy players by bug fixes that annoy them. In conclusion, I'd say Development Team.
update constantly
update constantly
BWAHAHAHAHA
Good one, mate!
