Author Topic: Question about high school.  (Read 1146 times)

Ok, I have to ask you guys something. Did your grades usually drop on the first semester on freshmen year? Is that normal, because I have B's all over the board and unfortunately one C+ (in french, and only because I forgot ONE homework assignment.).

Just wondering.

My school doesn't suck so no.

My grades were fantastic freshman year, usually around 97. They dropped as I continued. I'm still getting almost all As, but I need to get my act together.

so far this

Considering you've just started out, you only have a few assignments meaning a lower fraction for grades. IE If you only had three assignments and you bombed 1, that's still 66%. It should balance out as you go.

good. that's what I was thinking.

my teachers have stuffty "participation" grades that are like 30% of my overall grade. Considering I get high As on all of my tests, I get bored in class and I'm in the highest level they have. My participation grades are really low because I get so bored. It's stuffty. Freshman year was the same deal. It's been a pattern.

and the reason I get bored is because I know every answer, no lie. I used to put my hand up a lot but teachers stopped calling me so I couldn't put my hand up because it wasn't worth the effort, then they get pissed at me for not participating. I've had situations where I'm the ONLY ONE with a hand up and they call on a random person just so I don't get to speak. Honestly I get bored because they make an effort to make it NOT engaging to me.

stop being an underachiever and get harder classes

or stop complaining about something you can easily fix

I'm in the highest level of my classes that the school has. Don't assume things you don't know.

dont expect people to immediately know everything about your situation

I'm already at like a 62% in some of my classes because they have this stupid-ass system of asking you like, three questions of completely random stuff at the end of each day, and it's never important topics. It's like "what was the name of the fly that circled the room of the signing of the declaration of independance". Such bullstuff.
