Author Topic: Blockland popping up in the younger generations?  (Read 3166 times)

So I was riding home from school, and I hear two kids talk about Roblox. Well of course this caught my surprise because the majority of me growing up on the computer was that game. I went to look, saw that indeed, it was Roblox, a little more furnished than back in my day and definitely showing it's ripped off ideas from Minecraft.

This brought my curiosity in when they'll start saying "Hey let's play Blockland!"

I haven't seen nor heard a kid who's in a grade lower than me, or even above (I'm a sophomore grade 10) say anything about it. I started the Blockland thing in our area and now the only one who even thinks about it. I'm curious to see if any kids from say, the elementary schooling or middle school (grades 8 and below) even play the game. I'd find it a tad surprising because of Blocklands radical community, but it would also be weird to see a kid on the same server I'm at and actually know me from school, somehow.

Has it occurred to anyone else that kids in their area, or friends or just people who you haven't told about Blockland, they've just found out on their own, have started playing? It's still a small game in terms of others, but its's been out there and I would almost not be surprised if I saw at least one kid on it.

Anyone have these little nostalgic trips or surprises of these random kids playing the same game you sit your ass in front of 15 hours a day?

i've never met someone else that has ever played a game like roblox or blockland...

one time i was walking home from school and i heard two year 12's talk about world of warcraft, and i couldn't help myself pointing out that they were using the wrong abilities for their level

* oops, forgot the #swag
thx

my little sister sometimes plays blockland and she's in 8th now.

so you probably won't believe this
in probably 1st grade if i can remember that far, there was this guy named zuhaib i met, and i was talking about blockland, and he said he loving PLAYED blockland before.

now that i think about it, he probably hasn't. i generally think the minimum age limit for playing blockland is when you're starting middle school

the minimum age limit for playing blockland is when you're starting middle school

socially, there is none
legally, there is none (except for the forums, the EULA requires you to be 13)

no one in my area has ever heard of blockland, no one i have ever met (besides two people) have ever heard of blockland, sometimes i feal alone in the world and that all you guys are on mars or something

we're not on mars, just the majority in random ass locations around the US and like three stragglers in the UK.

Good grief, your friends are as dumb as I am.

I have been playing since I was in 5th grade (9th now) and I'm always wondering the same thing. I got one of my friends to play for awhile, but he has stopped recently. My other friends think nothing of the game, I guess they aren't interested in the building aspect.

i started blockland in 1st grade so

I started in 4th grade and I play today in 10th grade.

I tried to get like 5 of my friends to play, but it never worked out.

I remember about 5 years ago when I first discovered Blockland, all on my own. I played the demo, and built a little yellow house with 149/150 of the demo bricks.
Pacnet2010/2013/20##, who is my little brother, purchased the game about 1.25 years after that or something. I used to play on his account. I got my own Blockland key about 3 years ago from today.
But I wasn't involved in the forums until 1.5 years ago.
I am now in 10th grade, and I discovered BL in 5th grade.
About 2 weeks ago, Pacnet successfully convinced a kid at school to buy Blockland.

i always wished to promote blockland but my crowd is more concerned with asian-type games and academics

probably because i go to a 90% asian school where league is popular

honestly though blockland really is a game that would be best played by a group of friends on a lan server messing around and stuff. Sadly there isn't enough existing campaign-type content to support this since most group gaming sessions are usually fun because of the large amount of content people can choose to play on.
