My mother took me to the doctor yesterday because she got worried due to me staying up all night (like until 5:AM) she decided to take me to the doctor yesterday and he came out and said that I have insomnia.

I used to have trouble sleeping, and I stayed up late either just imagining things or reading.
It eventually became a non-issue.

I know a lot of people who have it. It happens to many excessive video game players.

If I don't keep my brain distracted with some noise like a YouTube video or something my brain will prevent myself from sleeping because I just can't get my mind off of things.

I usually stay awake really late/sleep for short amounts of time, but I wouldn't say I have insomnia. I'm just a teenager who doesn't always realize the value of sleep.
A lot of teenagers don't sleep normal and think they have insomnia, just like people who are simply brown town think that they have OCD.

I'm not saying you don't have insomnia or anything, but I'm annoyed when people who likely don't have insomnia say that they do.

I have no problems sleeping whatsoever, I can sleep whenever I want.

i wish i can do this.  ;-;

I don't believe in "insomnia" being a disorder. Insomnia is what people call bad sleeping habits developed over time.

I could have gone into the doctor and gotten official documentation saying I have insomnia ten times over by now.
It's the result of stimulating your brain, which makes you not want to sleep. *(Being on the computer, watching TV, working, etc)
I used to live with a friend's family, and my friends mother told us he had insomnia. She would lay in bed all day every day because of other illnesses, and she would stay up all night watching television.

I offered the advice to maybe stop watching television an hour before she wanted to sleep. And she accepted.
Over about a 1 month period, she said she was cured. Hmm I wonder why?

What I believe in, is the correlation between the heavy use of electronics and the lack of sleep.

i have a sleeping disorder and its not all that bad... if you take meds. i suggest Clonidine, i take it every night and i sleep very well.

If someone replaced your Clonidine pills with sugar pills, you would sleep the same. :^)

It's all in the head.
