Author Topic: How would you start up the Advanced Boot Menu with a TV as a Monitor?  (Read 1006 times)

So, I found out after using this kick ass vizio tv (24 inches) for my computer's monitor, it doesnt flash the bios screen like it usually would, so i press f8 on this stuffty black screen, and it just gives me this tiny boot menu, i want to know how to get in my BIOS and my advanced boot menu, since i cant find a way in.
I have some asus motherboard
windows 7 home premium 64 bit
stuffloads of ram (8gb)
1 tb of harddrive space
how would i get into the bios and advanced boot menu?

why'd the boot menu be dependent on the monitor you're using?

also on my asus motherboard the default boot menu is a "simplified" version in which i have to navigate to the advanced options

why'd the boot menu be dependent on the monitor you're using?
well, when i had the stuffty 1680x1050 monitor, it would flash the asus motherboard screen saying to press F8 to enter the bios.
now all pressing f8 does is give me this stuff simplified boot menu, saying to boot from something
but anyway, what is the main key to get to the BIOS?

Try F12, Delete or F2.
This.

F8 is normally boot options. F12 or F2 are designated for accessing BIOS.

Look up the keys for your motherboard or look at the brief display of keys to press when your computer starts up.

F12 is the key for boot options on my motherboard, but its different for everyone, so

Try F12, Delete or F2.
