Author Topic: Endless Earth - flat earth  (Read 18498 times)

you missed my map :(

Doesn't take that much effort to edit that map.

On a note a forceful military recruitment is undergoing within the Conservatian-Britannian empire without a end date.

We're still awaiting word of the sailors we sent westward like 15 years ago.

EDIT: Stellagentum assumes that the ships have not found land, as no word has returned. Families and friends mourn the loss of the sailors.
Out-of-RP: We actually did find land and are colonizing it, but your countries don't know that, so please don't pretend you do.
*cough*

okay time is going by too slow, one DAY now equals 5 years.

Revolution in Slanisa.

People take up arms and begin to take over cities. They are revolting against having a kingdom. The countryside and one major city have been taken over by the rebels. The rebels number in the hundreds of thousands.

Stellagentans began postulating theories about space and how these "planets" seem to rotate.

Damn you Stellagentans!

The Afkoshlians (i think that's my nation name? i havent been here a while) begin working on scientific developments, too, such as a very early rendition of the lightbulb.

After the invention of telescopes, we have this one theory (also we get to make the solar system biiitches):

We have suspicions there might be other planets between Defteron and Makria, but we're not sure what they are. Also, I know this is a bit detailed, but when Galileo had a telescope he could see Jupiter's moons :P

And yes, I know the Earth is flat, but from the Stellagentum's point of view, if all the other planets are round, maybe ours is too.

After discovering something named 'Atoms' after Sir Henry Longbriar Atom, which are round in some form or another, scientist John Pallejo comes up with the theory of round planets, assuming; "If all things are made up of tiny, round molecules, then everything is round in some form, and if you do sail across the Earth, you will notice you do not fall off the earth and you will notice not everything is at the same level" basically what he said is if you sail across th world you will notice nothing is flat.

And no Tristan, we are not naming the loving planets after what you hink they could be, because they are cigarettegy names.

We can't name them after the Greek/Roman gods because they don't exist, so I just translated them. If you have better ones, go ahead.

What about

Litos, for the Sun, because it gives off Light?
Hetimer for Mercury because of its heat?
Lovus for Venus because Venus?
Earth
Redan for Mars because of its red surface?
Masimmia for Jupiter because of its mass?
????
Lakos for the blue tinge of the last planet there?

What about

Litos, for the Sun, because it gives off Light? butbut Lumos is Greek for light :c
Hetimer for Mercury because of its heat? Sure
Lovus for Venus because Venus? I don't see why not
Missing the sandy deserty planet
Earth
Redan for Mars because of its red surface? Mars doesn't(?) exist
Missing icey planet
Masimmia for Jupiter because of its mass? Defteron sounds way forgetin' cooler
????
Lakos for the blue tinge of the last planet there? I guess we could but I think we can do better

Actually, nobody in medieval times or ancient times thought the world was flat...
The ancient greeks established that.
Colombus was just looking for a way to india, he only found out the new world, which he and everyone else took advantage of.

defteron sounds gay
Come on, let me keep one name at least.
Also, Defteron's actually a star, but we don't know that binary star systems can even exist so we think it's a planet.
