trinick is spot on with the fact that they won't even hurt the economy.  oh no, we won't have parks and museums open and nonessential personnel will have pay withheld until the shutdown is resolved!!  didn't this happen like a few years ago or something too and nothing happened
This happened like two months ago and nothing happened at all.

Also OP is pretty much stupid.

I don't think it'll be that bad, it's just a result of politicians being unable to compromise and reason with things.

A shutdown happened in 2011 as well right? I never heard anything about it back then

Government shutdowns happen all the time. It just means the government won't be able to spend any money until the parties reach a compromise, it's essentially a game of political chicken. They're actually good things, they force parties to actually come to a decision and sacrifice things. We won't go into another "great depression," the economy won't even take a hit. The only reason people are QQing is because liberal media has been playing it up, and most people listen to liberal media. Conservative media is having a field day with it on the other hand, they're excited.
Wow, no. You're an idiot.

TL:DR

Government is full of idiotic old men who don't know jack about technology or the modern age. They're still stuck in the 1960's.

Nope. It was narrowly avoided then and last year as well.

Might not be bad for you guys, but if the shutdown happens, my dad stops getting paid;
and the worse part is my mom is visiting Peru so she can't work :(
So yeah, money tracking time!

Government shutdowns cost upwards of a billion dollars.

And all the other bad stuff we're avoiding.

Basically, DC doesn't get it's trash cleanup.

Also, soldiers don't get paid real time.
And state workers don't get paid.

Otherwise it just costs billions of dollars because two parties don't like deciding budgets.

God why cant the 2 friggin parties decide. forget, the soldiers saving our asses are going unpaid

What an ugly mess. I blame the politicians and voters incompetence. We should move to a land where you eat a plate full of pancakes for breakfast everyday, chop trees and make wood, drive cars with square tires, and combat beavers and moose.
