But seriously, just because 2 parties could not agree, it's gonna cost America a government shutdown and about $10 billion if it lasts for a week.
You're acting like it's an easy thing to agree over huge political issues. The government isn't being shut down over whether or not gays can marry, they're arguing over whether or not the biggest cost to the government ever should continue to be funded when it hasn't helped at all yet.

Ok, forgive me for being uninformed, but what is so bad about Obamacare? From what I have heard, it actually helps people. I didn't know it costs the government so much.
It's negatively affected so many things. For example, my sister works 29 hours a week at her job because if she works 30 or more they will have to pay for her healthcare. She's covered by my father's healthcare until she's 25 or so, so she's safe there. However, if she wasn't covered, she would be forced to either pay for healthcare (above $100 a month, and she doesn't need it at all) or pay a $90 a month penalty for not having healthcare. Since she makes approximately $1000 a month, that would be 9-15% of her income. It might be easier for her to afford it if they would have her work more hours, but they can't afford to have her work 30 or more. And mind you, we're not talking about taxes or something here. We're talking about healthcare she not only doesn't need, but doesn't want.
