Author Topic: Come up with your own ideas  (Read 3936 times)

Yes this topic did belong in drama because it's related to how "Noobish" certain users are, or in this case a certain group.

What's with people posting in general; asking for ideas for projects?
Would it be that much of a challenge to take some time out of your day to think of a really cool idea?

You guys, really piss me off; as I have taken at least 100 hours out of my life to work on something (and am still working on it) that matters to me, yet nobody seems to give a stuff. These people that can't seem to come up with their own idea's however, generate popularity that is more consistent, and far outweighs the quality of their content.

You can collaborate, you can ask for help on a project you currently are working on; I don't mind. I do care enough to tell you guys not to ask a random group of people for ideas, as you're going to get reply's that will equalize to your half-baked, result of a project.

Really. loving. Salty.

No, it didn't. Because you're so committed to making this crybaby thread nobody gives a forget about I'll move it to off topic and be done with it.

Maybe it's because people aren't as intellectually superior as you obviously are and maybe want to ask some people what they think so they have a thing to go off of.

If I made an action adventure game when really all people wanted was a space strategy game, I'd have wasted my time.

There is a point to why I made this thread; not just to be a crybaby about my own works being drowned under a pile of stuff.

First post doesn't even go over how players will complain due to lack of quality, as well as different servers; yet they will support the really stuffty ones and leave all others, effectively; de-moralized. I'm sure I'm not the only one whom that pisses off, yet here I am; making a topic somewhat related to it.

How dismissive. It's not that hard to come up with a basic idea, to which; you shouldn't feel bad about asking for help on an idea that you've already come up with. Though for god's sake, pushing down topics by people who have already worked hard; with something that probably won't even happen considering you have to ASK for an idea. I can't just go down to wal-mart and buy a loving idea.

That's life though.

No matter how much effort you put into it, if it's not interesting, it's going to be pushed down.
If you think that's tough, think about all the investors who have put their money into products and didn't receive a single penny back.

I'm guessing OP posted some half assed 5 page "novel" and got pissed when everyone said it was stuff

It's not dismissive at all?
Surely if the thing that you are making is as good as you are making it out to be, it wouldn't be shoved down by these topics.
There's more than one audience.
If one audience appeals to one person but another appeals to say 1,000,000, you should focus on the single person who likes 1 genre and ignore/disappoint the other million?

Referring to me as "an intellectual superior" for the sake of being cute, is dismissive. Also; as stated by 'Nevermind' that's not how it works. Crap, if in a high enough quantity; will over-shadow the brightest of stars, but this topic isn't about me. I want people to try.

These people can do so much better; they're capable of making something good, but they're trying to take an easy way out. Not too far from these are the ones that complain about 'crap projects', and then go and re-create the same exact piece of crap.

No, all he posted was the op.
He posted it in drama and it's still there.

sarcasm ≠ dismissive

Also; as stated by 'Nevermind' that's not how it works.
No, no, no. I meant that you should not be complaining because if the so-called "interesting ideas" were really interesting, people would actually pay serious attention to it. If it's something unoriginal like "Bear RP" "Black Rocket Launcher Add-on" or "Medieval RP that thousands of people have tried but failed" people ARE NOT going to take them seriously.

And the last thing you should do is to blame the forums for not being cooperative.

sarcasm ≠ dismissive
That just makes it worse.

"Lol so you need to use sarcasm to put extra punch in your arguments? Wow you're so smart"
It's the biggest cop-out way of downgrading the opposition in a debate; very rude. It feels dismissive; whether or not it was intended.

And the last thing you should do is to blame the forums for not being cooperative.
I can't truly blame the forums for not 'upping' my projects, however; should be held accountable for 'upping' the same things that they (the participants) will complain about a few weeks later.
