Need help on what to buy (iPad or Surface)

Sooo since confirmed today that I cannot get an iPhone, I decided I should get an iPad or a Microsoft Surface. I don't think I can get the Surface Pro, because it's alot more expensive but we'll have to see. And I'm still not sure if there's an actual desktop feature in the regular Surface

I think that the surface tablets can come with Windows 8. But they're usually loaded with Windows RT8, which only uses Retro apps.

pro and pro 2 are both intel design and run full win 8
