As owner of lowered sports car, can confirm.

As owner of lowered sports car, can confirm.
I can also confirm it is a continuous issue

So today I learned why it's a bad idea to get tires installed at Walmart.

First off, the estimated "hour and a half tops" that they estimated for me ended up being 2 hours and 30 minutes. Walking around Walmart trying to find something to do for that long is less than exciting.

Second, whoever the dingbat was that was in charge of moving my car not only turned on my radio that I leave off most of the time, but he also turned up the volume so when I started the car, my ears got assaulted.

Third, they think they are so up with the times with all their technology. However, on the handheld device that they use for entering my vehicle information, the screen was completely screwed. I could only sign my first name on it because the stylus wouldn't work on the second half of the screen. They also couldn't run my checks through their system because of whatever reason that they couldn't even explain. It's a good thing I had a backup plan by stuffing funds into my checking account so I could use my debit card.

Fourth, the guy who got there before me waited for four hours to get his car back. When he went to go claim it, he discovered that they put two differently sized tires on his car. If you've ever seen someone trying so hard not to lynch a cashier, this guy was taking the prize.

Fifth, they overfilled my tires to over 25% above the safety threshold. It felt like the car was wobbling the entire way home. I'm going to have to drain a bunch of air before I leave tomorrow.

Wow. I knew wal-mart mechanics weren't exactly high quality, but holy stuff.

Also, looking for videos of my car when i found one that's ricier than a loving rice field:

Worst tire experience I've had was at Costco I believe. I went in to get some new tread and bump myself up a size for better grip. I get up to the counter and the guy asks what kind of car I have and what kind of tires I want, so I tell him. He says that those tires won't fit on my rims. I assure him they will, as my friend is running the exact same setup I'm requesting. He replies, "Well, we don't go by what your friends say works." So I went to Discount Tire, got my car fitted with them, and have been running that size for almost two years without issues. forget that guy, I'll never comprehend the exceptionally low quality service attitude of don't give the customer what they're asking for. I couldn't give less of a stuff what their system says fits on my car, I'm not going to pony up the cash to some business that doesn't want to provide the service I am requesting.

Now that my tires are figured out and done, my next point of interest is my fuel filter and my brake lines. Both are exceptionally rusty and need replacement. I also have a mechanic with a used ECM that he wants to test on my car to see if it fixes my old idling problem that I've just been ignoring now because idk what to do about it anymore.

So I removed a bunch of air from all four of my tires this morning and the car seemed to drive okay....at first. After I was done with classes, I had to drive to the bank. On the way there, I drove over an area of slightly uneven pavement (almost like road work had been done so a small concrete slab was used to fill in the hole) and suddenly the steering wheel jerked to the left as if I was steering into oncoming traffic. It was small enough and I'm a rather alert driver so I caught the error and corrected it before it became a problem, but that still can't be happening. I pulled over and checked my tire pressures on the front wheels and was getting readings over 36psi (cold tire threshold is 32psi, but mine were warm so it should naturally be higher). I drained some more air from both and left them between 33.5 and 34. Didn't have anymore trouble but I'm not convinced that it won't happen again.

i got my tires rotated the other day and the psi of the tires was so wonky it wasn't even funny

this is why if i don't have the tools or balls to fix something on my vehicle i make sure to be very specific with mechanics on our agreement for what i'm paying them to do

"oh it will cost you this much for us to do this. ...what? you want it done RIGHT? that will be an extra 300 dollars."

a close friend of mine went to a local shop to get a ding or two knocked out of a fender. the mechanics quoted him at like 400 and apparently started talking stuff to eachother in spanish while he was thinking about it. since my friend is puerto rican - which they didn't know since he lacks any sort of accent - he called them out on it in spanish so they knocked off maybe 200 bucks. when the job was done, well... it literally looks like they took the fender off, blindly beat the other end with a mallet and stuck it back on
