Saw an Mercedes SLS on the highway today on our way back from the dentist.

How would a car for your son not be an investment?
An investment is something that you purchase with the intent of gaining money off its predicted rise in value. Cars in almost all cases only depreciate in value, and this is known by everyone I've ever talked to.

They way he drives it doesn't make it an investment
As I've reiterated again and again, the car is fully insured for any possible collisions. Since the word investment by nature refers to the monetary value of something, the prospect of me crashing it would not change anything at all, except that my new one would have a manual transmission. It's actually a good thing if I "crash daddy's investment."

Ok obviously I didn't mean investment in monetary terms.

This is dumb. We should be friends. We both have cool cars ;-) just don't drive like a dumbass.

Huh, do you know what an investment is? Unless the intent is to gain money off the car, which is probably not the case since the  car will only decrease in value, then it's not an investment. Investments are things you pay for in hopes of gaining money, for example, stocks, real estate, business, precious metals, etc.

stuff, didn't see trinicks post.

ok so my dad wants to know why cars aren't just fluid-drive like a lawnmower and i can't think of any reasons why they shouldn't/couldn't be

is it just me or does this look like a cheap movie prop car. like a low-budget batman movie batmobile or something

looks terrible either way

yeah
and it's $8,000,000
ridiculous

I am not an advocate of owning a entrepreneur mobile but you gotta love the 60's Cadillac Deville's.

$8 million?

what
its probably a prototype or something impractical either way

It looks like a ten year old Lexus.

waebgwauikegbak

?????

it's a maybach
kinda like the Lamborghini veneno, except instead of four there's only one

Its not even that cool looking. And I'd rather have any of the crazy limited Lamborghinis than that weird thing. I can't imagine spending that much money on a house, let alone a car.
