Whoops. That might be my fault.

You didn't even reply back to her last text, you monster.

Cops around here are practically bloodthirsty when it comes to tickets. Most of the people I know who have gotten tickets around here were pulled over for going 64 in a 60. However, the cops don't seem to be very bright when it comes to their choice spots to clock traffic speeds. They will usually sit somewhere completely obvious so anyone who can recognize their iconic brown armored Taurus interceptors will see them from 1/2 mile away. There are so many places right around corners or in places where people are always speeding where they'd issue a lot of tickets.

There does seem to be a rise in unmarked police cars though, and they are disguised pretty well. All of them still come as a Ford Taurus, but they are painted in normal everyday car colors. I've seen two dark red/maroon cars as well as a baby blue car. The dead giveaways are the spotlight and the absence of hubcaps.

I still occasionally see a rogue unmarked Crown Victoria with the police department plates (like the one that almost hit me that one time) driving around on the back roads. I'm pretty sure there are a couple of them but I figure they'll be phased out quickly since many police departments are abandoning Crown Vics after they were discontinued.

the sheriff's department in my county has BEAUTIFUL brown and gold paint on their cars, with only blue lights (except for the required white ones)
they look amazing
but they only have crown vics, chargers, and tahoes
which all look great. but I want to see a taurus in those colors
and they don't have any yet. idk why! the chargers and tahoes are almost all brand new, so it's not like they can't afford new cars

I'm going to a BMW driving event in Chicago tomorrow for this. I'll get to drive at least a BMW X1 and a 228i. I know I'm doing the Teen Driving School, Street Drives, maybe Skid Pad, and maybe the Hill Descent Control. My dad is doing the Autocross. The Car Control Clinic sounds extremely cool but it's too expensive.

On the subject of cops. Me and my mom and sister were driving down a highway in the left lane (#LeftLaneIsOnlyForPassing). Anyway. So the cop was going to pull the car in front of us over along with us. But he didn't.

He only pulled us over. The reason for this is because My mom wouldn't let him get in front of us because it looked like he was trying to cut us off.

So when he gets to the window he explains the situation. My mom says "The reason I didn't let you over is because it looked like you were trying to cut me off). (He actually would have if my mom had let him over).

Long story short is on the ticket it said my moms age is 37. (And that's far from true).

So while we're telling this story to my dad he then says "So does that make the ticket invalid?".

If he didn't have his lights/siren on, you shouldn't have been pulled over...

Also been looking through Google Images to find the Taurus police cars from here.

Virginia cops are easy af to spot

the sheriffs are even easier to spot

He didn't have his lights on. (Also to be fair in the state I live in the left lane is a passing lane only. Which I think is kinda lame but hey. What can you do).

But like, how did he know whether or not you had a left turn coming up ahead? I'm all for people driving in the right lane if they aren't passing anyone (left lane cruisers are annoying), and I do that, but I've never heard of someone getting fined for driving in the left lane.

I don't think that was why he gave us the ticket. I think it was because my mom wouldn't let him over and that's what set him off. Like this "How dare she not let a COP get ever whenever I please!"

Also he wasn't angry or even mad when he spoke to us. This is just my guess.

are you kidding me dude look at the florida police cars

if you dont see them you're literally blind

that's pretty normal police car colors
my city's police cars are silver. most of them are crown vics. but they do have some taruses, which are the plain black and white, for some reason
my neighboring city has mostly dark blue cars, with some silver... again, except for the black and white tauruses
the alabama state troopers pretty much exclusively use silver tahoes. I mean, I'm sure they have other cars, but you don't ever see them
there is this one silver truck that I see on the interstate sometimes. I guess it's a state trooper, but I've only ever seen it pull over 18-wheelers. idk if that's like, a THING, or just confirmation bias

the next city that's in close proximity is actually in georgia, not alabama, but their cars are dark blue and yellow
I haven't spent enough time on interstates in georgia to notice their state troopers, though

Who says I didn't see the car? He was an obvious cop.
