Apparently, AM General is making a civilian version of their HMMWV (Humvee) called the V1 Gorilla.

Seems like poor gas mileage is making a comeback

I almost got hit by a drunk/distracted driver a week ago. I forgot to post about it.

I was on my way to pick my sister up from somewhere. It was dusk. I was on a two lane highway with no shoulders. That road is in the middle of the woods, so the sides of the road are thick with trees and/or deep ditches. I came over a hill and maybe 200-400ft in front of me there was a beige Jeep Grand Cherokee driving on the wrong side of the road coming at me. His right wheels were on the center line. I hit the brakes and leaned on the horn. Luckily he swerved over right away and passed me. I watched him go over the hill in my mirror and he was still partly driving on the center line. If he had hit me I would've been completely screwed. I didn't have my phone on me because my sister had it. After I picked her up and got back on that same highway a cop passed me. I was kind of mad because if he had been there 10 minutes earlier he could have gone after the guy.
If he didn't respond to me honking I would have had to either jump off the road and hit a tree (possibly rolling the van over), hit him head on, or get in the wrong lane and possibly sideswipe him. The last option would have definitely been the best.

Here's an illustration, the black dot is the Jeep

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Always saw this thread while browsing and always figured i should eventually post this here. I acquired this car a while back and was planning on restoring it sometime in the future but i've been busy. I thought you guys might appreciate it.

here's the old Fiat logo to prove that its not fiat  :cookieMonster:

Fiat 124 Spider? I appreciate them, but don't know a whole lot about them. I saw a yellow one the other day in about the same condition as this.

oh hey look its my alfa's cousin

On my way to class this morning ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

i only get 320 miles with both tanks full :(

i only get 320 miles with both tanks full :(
I get 490 on one 33 gallon tank

careful with daddy's car!

ok I've been meaning to ask this for a while but kept forgetting

let's say you're driving along the road a little over the speed limit. in your area this is a relatively normal margin, but it could be said that you're pushing it a bit
then, you see a cop!
do you slow down or keep going at the same speed?
if you slow down, that's sorta an admission that you knew you were in the wrong. so the cop might feel like that is a good reason to pull you over
or... if you don't slow down, what if they think you're being roostery, and pull you over cus they got mad?

what do u do????

If its 5 over then just keep going

in my area you don't go over the speed limit at all because if you get pulled over, you get fined $100 per mile that you were going over

in my area you don't go over the speed limit at all because if you get pulled over, you get fined $100 per mile that you were going over
here, if you're going <25 over, it's $250
if you're going >=25 over, it's $275

seems kinda silly that it's such a small difference, if you ask me. really weird and pointless
