Author Topic: dog had stroke and died  (Read 1641 times)

so today i came home from school to see my door was unlocked (i usually take my key out and unlock it)

so my dad's fiancé (the one who had the dogs originally) was home cleaning.

Bo (our dog) had recently had some "problems" which were unknown to me at the time. I was told they were minor so I decided not to worry about it.

I asked her if Bo was doing alright. She said verbatim:

"Bo had a stroke, and we had to let him go." (her voice is quavering and tears are coming out of her eyes at this point.)

i've never felt such a surreal feeling before. forget, i feel bad.

forums, what do

animals dying is so sad especially if it loves you

dang, that's sad.

Especially whenever you have your heart ripped out after told nothing would happen.

Really sorry to hear about this.

:(

although why am i reminded of the thread where Lord Tony's dog died and IUV drew all of that fan art in memorial

Wait they put him down because he had a stroke?

My dog had a stroke just a few months back, he couldn't do anything but he's fine now. It goes away on it's own, you just need to nurse the dog really well.

he was 12 years old with a bad leg and he was fairly skinny. He had a very broad chest though so he looked big

A stroke is literally massive brain damage, and the damage is almost always permanent. In the cast of a 12-year-old dog I doubt putting it down was anything but humane.

I remember when I had to put my dog down.
It was 3 days before Christmas and it was the first Christmas without him.
We let him suffer too long which was a mistake.

Anyways, the house was really quiet without him but now we have a new dog and a cat.

There's also another type of stroke where it's temporary because a nerve or something is damaged. It's not permanent if that's the case. But that happens only with younger dogs. Old dogs with a stroke are long gone, yeah.

don't worry bro, ur buddy elecro is here, nao come here and gimme a hug c:
