Man I hope these graphical issues get fixed in the next gen consoles. Too much pop ins and extremely low mush textures with like 30FPS max.

Pageloss for PCcigarettes:

I'm like 90% positive consoles weren't made to be more powerful than PCs, and the fact that they get more powerful with each release doesn't prove anything, as that's literally how technology works.

Consoles were made for usability, as in, you can buy a game, pop it in, and play without having to need a high-end computer or worry about any system requirements.

That, and it's way easier to bring a console to a friend's house to play with them than it is to lug around a hugeass gaming rig. Yeah, you have laptops, and even gaming laptops, but there's still a pretty big decrease in that oh-so-fancy performance everyone seems to love bragging about.

That also brings me to the point of playing with friends. I'll tell you right now as a game developer, it's way, way easier to implement local multiplayer than it is to implement online multiplayer, and therefore, you'll find more local multiplayer options available for games in general than you will online multiplayer, and, well, a keyboard isn't exactly well suited to local multiplayer play.

You could buy joysticks for your computer, but as I've stated before, unless you're playing Mari0, no PC game dev is going to be expecting multiple people to own a joystick, nor will they expect multiple people to huddle around a single keyboard. With multiple keyboards, it's just a huge awkward mess, and you'd need a stuffton of USB ports (or keyboard input splitter things, if those still even exist) to support them all.

Even then, games made for consoles are optimized for consoles, and you'll almost never experience any kind of lag with these games because of this fact, so performance doesn't even matter at all in the end. Less graphical capabilities? Who loving cares as long as the game's good?

And because of ^that fact, you're more likely to get a game that'll run like stuff on your PC than you will on a console, simply because not all PCs are high-grade Crysis runners, while consoles are all on the same level.

tl;dr Even if consoles cost a little more, there's usually less bullstuff involved in getting the fun you want out of your games.

And I'll add this as well: you're free to like PCs more than consoles; you're free to have your own opinion, in that performance (and being able to do more in general) is more important than accessibility. However, PCs and consoles are two different systems and are made with two different purposes and mindsets, and should not be compared as though they were the same.

^

It's like comparing a personal air conditioner to a commercial one. One's better than the other but it depends on what you want to cool.

but they are meant to be compared.

pc gaming is the obvious evolution of what happened when the arcade fad died out. since arcades were already the computers (of their day Lol) clearly it made sense to build a game on top of the newly existing os's then to have its own external hardware.

consoles where the obvious solution to owning your own arcade games. that were way more affordable then actually buying these huge things.

they were both born from the same place. and the only thing that has ever separated them is the cost.
but nowadays, PCs are dirt cheap, and consoles are still cost comparatively as they always have been. but becoming more like computers now instead of just gaming machines.

just like what apple did. they pat them self on the back hard for years because they were so different and uniquely specialized. then just became a overpriced crappy PC, in the shadows of the real PCs.

Honestly, I don't have 600 dollars to get a good built gaming computer.

My mom barely has enough money to get me a PS4. I guess I'll get watch_dogs and Bf4 for the ps3 until I get a job in the summer.

I quickly threw together a computer for under 400 bucks

If you want to have it hooked up to the TV your can get an HDMI cable and a gamepad and it will be about the price of a PS4.

Ok, seriously guys, stop bringing pc into console arguements.
I mean really, in every "xbax vs pz#" arguement there has to be at least one guy who goes "haha idiots playing on consoles, Pcs are much better" just... just get out.
And another thing, Pcs aren't ALWAYS better. I mean they CAN be, if you steal NASA's technology.
I kid, I kid.
But some computers are worse than consoles, really, you can't go into an arguement with a pc from 2008 upgraded like 618 years tech-wise and say that pc is better hands down.

I'm not saying pc is bad, it really isn't, just don't compare it to these.
It's like comparing an iphone/android phone to an HD TV.

It's just so annoying.

With the extra function of not being able to run correctly! Considering the graphics card requires a minimum of a 450 Watt power supply and it wont run games as well as the PS3 anyways.

Edit: PS4, was what I meant to say, although I doubt it'd even reach PS3's performance so it still works.

i'm getting a new type of DS (hopefully) this Christmas
the 2DS is probably the first resort because I have small hands
but yeah, since we're talking about ps4s and xbox ones
i'd say if I had to make another choice of game console this Christmas I'd...

... keep my Xbox 360 and just buy something else around £109.

I fixed the power supply and its still under 400

And also from what we know the PS4's GPU is integrated with the CPU so no the PS4 is not more powerful then this PC. And if you think that it can't reach the PS3's performance you are handicapped.

whatever about the new xbox, all specs are stuff.

the ps4 though. amd 8cores. 2 reserved for backup and OS, similar to what they did on the ps3.
so basically comes down to a hex 2.75ghz game processing.

its got combined graphics/cpu though. while a hex 2.75 may be good enough on its own as a processor. that power is also running the graphics. and not likely down the middle where it would be easy to compare.

basically, its just a crappy gaming comp lol. can build an amd equivalent for roughly the same price as the ps4 itself will be.
